Tony - A Forgotten Man Forgotten Again

President Trump finished his term of presidency and departed from Whitehouse at the morning of Jan. 20th, 2021.

In the past few days I often though about a man named Tony.

5 years ago, I wanted to find a contractor to pain my yard wood fences. I happened to see that my neighbor fences was just painted. I asked him for a referral. He did me a huge favor. He helped me get my fences painted nicely and save lots of money. That's how I got to know Tony.

My neighbor owned paint machine. He bought paint himself, and hired a painter to do the work for him. The work was nicely done, and spent much less money than hiring a contractor. He loaned me his machine, and asked the painter to work for me. I really appreciated my neighbor's generosity. I was so glad to accept his help. My neighbor told me that I need to go pick up Tony, who was the painter every morning for this working on the fence. He also told me that he hired Tony at the local labor market. Tony doesn't own a car. He picked up Tony every morning at a gas station where there is a bus stop. I need to do the same. "Tony is a professional painter and a good guy". My neighbor ensured me.

The fence painting work was done in three days. I had spent quite some time with Tony during these three days. I pick Tony up at the gas station in the morning, and dropped him off at evening.

Here are what I knew about Tony:

He used to own a construction company inherited from his father. He managed the construction company well for some time. His company went bankrupt as he couldn't compete with those companies, which employed illegal immigrates with low wages. He had to work for the others. He lost his job because cannot compete with other illegals. He also lost his marriage. He tried to find job in the labor market. But it's hard for him because he cannot speak Spanish. Think about it. This is America. English is not good enough for him to find a job. He has little money. He cannot afford to do the repair when his truck was broken. That's why I had to pick him up.

Tony is a Christian. He listened Christian songs all the time when he was working on the fences. But he didn't go to church because he cannot find a church where he can belong. I can tell that Tony may have drinking issue, and he even was on some kind of drug. But I can see that Tony had not given up yet. He was trying to find a job and earn his living.

I feel sad for him, not just his situation, but the abandonment by his own country, and not cared by the church.

He lost his company, his marriage, his job, cannot belong to a church, cannot find a job because he speaks only English, was homeless for some time. It's in America, his native country.

I had never seen Tony again after he was done from painting of my fences.

I know that there is not just one Tony in this country, but millions of Tony who lost almost everything because of the politicians sold them out, and most of American churches do not care about them, but even accused them for the crime of racism that they never committed. Some Christian Leader accused them for worshiping Trump.

In fact, I did see Tony like forgotten men and women who were in Trump's rally with a red MAGA hat. Trump created millions of job for those forgotten men in the past four years. Tony might well be in DC on Jan., 6th. He might be front of the capital building, and might even be into the building, and might be pursued by FBI or might be arrested for insurrection at capital hill.

If I can use one sentence to summarize Trumpism, it's most about the forgotten men like Tony, and there are tens of millions of those forgotten men.

Now Trump was gone.

Is there anyone with power who cares for those forgotten men? Is there any church which loves those forgotten men?

The latest news is that Biden used his pen and killed Keystone pipeline project and kills tens of thousands job which Trump created.

Some of those forgotten men women were depressed and lost hope after Jan. 20th.

Millions of them are waiting for their man, Donald Trump to be back.

Will Trump be back? How will he be back if he does come back? Can someone else carry on Trumpism without Trump? If there is one, will he or she be willing to sacrifice as Trump did?
